Victoria, thank you for your comment and for your kind words about my books.
If this is the first fantasy you have ventured into, then I envy you! There are so many writers and worlds for you to discover.

I'm glad you've enjoyed your journey through my world.

With best wishes,

Robin Hobb

Hi Robin

I wanted to leave you this message - I have spent all my reading life with my nose stuck into historical fiction, popular science and legal texts.

I have always eschewed fantasy fiction because it seems to be full of ridiculous vampires and unbelievable magic. Not mention dragons and more dragons.

But a 22-year old told me to read the Farseer Trilogy. She lent me Book 1 as I refused to go buy it as I thought it would be full of vampires and dragons.

I can honestly tell you I have never had the privilege before of reading a book that is so full of extraordinary imagination but also of beautifully crafted language that weaves a world I can visualise and experience. You have an amazing ability to construct rich, complex characters.

I went on to actually buy Book 2 and 3 and then launched myself into the Liveship Traders trilogy. I admit I miss Fitz, the Fool and Nighteyes - but will move onto the Tawny Man series soon.

I expect to spend most of 2010 reading your books. You have inspired my own writing but more importantly have helped me to see that fantasy fiction is not full of silly vampires that sparkle in the sunlight :-) And that dragons can actually be such compelling characters that you wish they were really in our own world or for just one moment you could glimpse their iridescent blue wings as they soar wild and free.

Nothing of the Fool in these Rain Wild books.

I miss Fitz and the Fool as well. But until I have a solid plot that I think readers will like and I feel does them justice, I'll just have to let them wander about on their own.

Best wishes,

Robin

AAAAA!!

I live on Orcas Island, but I'll be in Australia when you come to Bainbridge.

I am far too busy to read your books, I can't afford to take the time, AND YET I DO ANYWAY! My clients are annoyed, and my reports are delayed. Oh well. I just found out that I can get Dragon Keeper on the Kindle, and after much fuss I'm here in Sweden reading it on my iPod Kindle Reader.

Whatever it takes.

Thank you for your stories.

 Thanks so much Robin - I'm very chuffed to hear you are writing more on the Rain Wilds!

Thanks for adding the spoiler space; I admit I forgot all about that in my excitement of finding your website  Good thing the comments are moderated. It's a shame there is no such thing as spoiler space on amazon.com as I accidentally read more than I should have on there in the reviews! Awaiting next novel with bated breath, though I realise it will be some time off. Best wishes, Jo

Hello Robin,

I've read and re-read your books more times than I can count. I have had to re-buy your books so many times from the covers falling off and pages fading, but each new purchase is as exciting to me as the first. Your creations and fantasy worlds have given me strength and a personal retreat more than once. I cannot explain the relief your books gave me as a teenager. I went through some rough times and instead of crying I entered the world of the Farseer’s and let my heart go with Fitz. I look forward to reading each one of your books, even if it is the 50th time I have read them, and I am never disappointed. I have cried, laughed, sighed, pained, sympathized and felt every other emotion while reading your stories. I have fallen asleep thinking of Fitz, Reyn, Beloved and dreamt dreams of purest peace.

My reasons of telling you this is to let you know that even if everyone in the world hated your books, I would love them and hold them dear. Thank you for sharing the stories of your imagination with us. I am only 22 years old, but I know you will be my favorite author until the end of my days.
My only goal after reading all your books a million times is to buy them in hardback and have each of them signed by you!

You are a true Queen among peasants in the fantasy world!

Hi Jo!
Thanks for your comments. It's wonderful to know that you've enjoyed the books. And I am, as a matter of fact, working on a tale right now that continues the story of some of the characters in Chronicles of the Rain Wilds.

Hope you don't mind that I inserted 'spoiler space' in your comment!
